Building the Future of Belting: Stef van Woudenberg’s Vision for Volta Europe
At Volta Belting, people and innovation go hand in hand with durable, hygienic, and sustainable belting solutions. In this interview, we speak with Stef van Woudenberg, Managing Director of Volta Belting Europe, about his return to the company, his vision for the future, and what makes Volta stand out in the industry. With a strong focus on teamwork, sustainability, and innovation, Stef shares how Volta is building on its unique strengths to grow responsibly while staying true to its core mission: helping customers solve real challenges.
Can you introduce yourself and share your role at Volta?
I’m Stef, and I have the privilege of leading Volta Belting Europe as Managing Director. My role is really about connecting people, our customers, partners, and our fantastic team, so that together we can create solutions that make a real difference in the industries we serve.
What was it like returning to Volta?
Honestly, it felt a bit like coming home. I knew Volta from before, so stepping back in was familiar, but also exciting, because the company has grown and the market has changed. For me, it was the perfect moment to return, I could bring fresh energy and ideas, while also building on what I already knew and appreciated about Volta’s culture.
What is your vision for Volta Belting Europe over the next five years?
I see Volta Europe as a place where growth and teamwork go hand in hand. We have the ambition to double our turnover by 2030, but it’s not just about numbers, it’s about doing it in a healthy, sustainable way. That means empowering our people, strengthening partnerships with distributors and OEMs, and making sure that when customers think about belting solutions, Volta is the first name that comes to mind.
What sets Volta apart in the belting industry, and how can this competitive edge be strengthened?
What makes Volta special is the combination of technology and people. Our belts are truly unique, they’re durable, hygienic, and reliable, but what really sets us apart is how we stand behind them. We don’t just sell a product; we help customers solve problems. To keep that edge, we must stay curious, keep innovating, and always listen to what our customers are telling us.
How does Volta integrate sustainability into its products and operations?
For me, sustainability is not a trend, it’s common sense. Our belts are designed to last longer, which means less waste and fewer replacements. That already makes a big difference for our customers. On top of that, we’re constantly looking at how we can make our production processes leaner and greener. It’s a journey, and I like that we’re moving forward step by step.
What role does innovation play in Volta’s long-term strategy?
Innovation is the heartbeat of Volta. The industries we work with are facing new challenges all the time, whether it’s stricter hygiene standards, tougher operating conditions, or higher efficiency demands. Innovation is how we stay relevant and create value. I love that our team is always experimenting, always looking for that next improvement that can make life easier for our customers.
What message would you like to share with Volta’s customers and partners worldwide?
A simple one: thank you. Your trust and partnership mean everything to us. We don’t take it for granted. Looking ahead, we’re excited to grow with you, not just by delivering great products, but by being a partner you can count on. Together, we can achieve much more than any of us could do alone.
