From setting up Volta’s facility in Vietnam to shaping the company’s long-term vision, he combines global perspective with local insight.
In this interview, Alon talks about the challenges, milestones, and opportunities that come with leading Volta Belting in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.
Can you introduce yourself? What is your role at Volta?
My name is Alon Hoch, GM of Volta Belting Asia. I am 39 years old from the beautiful Jezreel Valley, I reside today in Vietnam and have been spending my last 13 years throughout APAC region. Throughout the years I found my equilibrium spot lies in the center between eastern and western cultures.
What was it like to start a new facility in Vietnam? Could you share your experience with us?
Setting up VBA was a great challenge which required flexibility and durability. The Vietnamese corporate landscape is substantially different than the ones I have experienced so far, with full range of corporate internal and external segments which are widely distinct from standards outside of Vietnam. I can say that the setup process required the highest levels of patience and attention to the little details, ensuring the ultimate goal of full integration into the Vietnamese eco-system.
What is your vision for Volta Belting Asia in the coming 5 years?
When food processing as well as OEM companies needs a new PU Homogenous belt, the first image to appear in their mind will be a brand new Volta belt. A belt which includes a high-end sophisticated fabrication design. My vision is to see Volta’s special designs entering wider segments of the market and therefore making food production safer and with the highest efficiency standards. My vision is having the privilege to deliver this value to our partners around the region. Volta is not just a belt, its a concept. Having a Volta belt in your factory indicates that you do not compromise for quality, that you chose the best for yourself and for your partners.
What sets Volta apart in the belting industry — and how can this edge be strengthened?
If you are looking for a company with heavy focus specifically on PU Homogenous belts for the food sector – Volta.
If you are looking for a company that increases its investment on R&D year after year, a company which in it’s core DNA lies the strive for new developments, hand in hand with our partners – Volta.
To strengthen this edge we will be as close as it gets to the market, our communication channels with our partners will be widely open. Our execution will be fast and accurate.
What message would you like to share with Volta’s partners, customers, and employees?
Walk with us in this journey to make our vision become reality. A journey of a thousand miles begins beneath one’s feet.
Can you share a proud moment or milestone since the facility launched?
A large and diversified order to one of our prime partners, an order which was combined with wide range of fabrications and different products. I was walking through the fabrication floor and observed the team in the process. Each of them was fully focused on his task, each knew exactly what needs to be done, between them there was a very healthy and ongoing communication. Creating healthy, accurate and sustainable DNA is the biggest target which lies in front of my eyes. A moment which demonstrated we are on the right path is the moment I’m proud of the most.
In what ways are you tailoring Volta’s offerings to meet the needs of the Asian market?
We are building our offering to bring a global organization values and mindset together with localized service features.
We are tailoring an offer which will combine years of experience and global presence, front-line of industry R&D and innovation, while at the same time listening to the local market and its emerging needs.
